The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“The believer is not given to cursing, slandering or obscene and foul speech.”
Narrated by Ahmad, 3948; al-Tirmidhi, 1977

Do you ever think to yourself that a one way ticket to jannah is up to you?

I do. And when I'm being honest with myself, I realise it's my choice, yet I guess, I indirectly choose not to by following my nafs... And making that realization about myself troubles me a lot. I mean everything is decreed, but you still have a mind, and u still have a choice. ANd I think what the hell is wrong with me...

Even when you ponder over the seerah of Rasoolullaah, sallallaahu `alayhi wa-salaam, you see that he CHOSE to be the chosen one... Like, starting from age 35, he would go to the cave and essentially meditate and pray for hours on end, for like 5 years straight, searching for the truth, asking for the truth, and being sincere in aspiring to be one with the truth. He chose to be guided, and he chose to stay upon that guidance. He sacrificed 5 years of his life to be the Messenger in a way, and even he had to go through hardship to be at his position.

What have i done? nothing... We were blessed to be given Islaam from birth, but dont even realize the significance of it. We have already been given the truth, but dont cherish it or realize the weight of it.

"Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allâh?" Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allâh is near!" 2.214

"And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allâh will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test)." 29.2

May Allah swt make the path to Firdaws al'ala easy for us all. Aameen

Nah, if you could get jannah, then there would be no struggles, then jannah wouldn't be really worth it now would it? It's like you suddenly becoming a millionaire and having everything you ever wanted. Then why live? Do you hve anything to strive towards everyday? If you got everything you wanted, life would be no fun.

Your question inspired a blog post (shameless promo), so thank you.

To formally answer the question then no, I wouldn't. We know there's the siraat... but flying across it in an airplane? I don't think so, man. We'd be grateful enough to cross it without slipping, any old how would be good eh. And once in, there's no "returning" so to speak, so "one-way" is a given. Unless you say "non-stop", now that's something.

to seek knowledge and act upon that knowledge, otherwise you have learnt nothing.

Those who act in places of conflict around the world, have the fruits of knowledge.

And those who wish to sacrifice to get 2 jannah --- You can write a million books on principles and tawheed etc etc but their actions upon that knowledge is far greater.
