FYI:

Sheikh Ahmad Aamir

Is the same person who has that popular tajwid-learning album on Islamway. He's usually the first person to lead in tarawih at the East London masjid.

Which universities is this institution accredited by? And who teaches at it? What entry qualifications are required? Also, what is the study programme/syllabus? Oh, and what are the fees? And how long is the programme?

I dont think the Sheikh Ahmad Aamir in East London Mosque can speak english (thats what someone told me anyway). but this Sheikh Ahmed Aamir has a strong arabic accent mind you, so i aint sure.

i dont know much about this thing, but the sister told me on the phone once you do this BA thing you can go straight on to your masters because most unis recognize it.
entry qualifications...i think the usual. she only said gcse's so i think that might be ok.
dont know the syllabus or how long it is, so u might want to go to the open day and find out.
and finally the fees...
if your doing the whole thing (all 4 days) then its £1200 for a yr.
and if ur doing the short one ( like only the weekdays or only sunday) then its 800 quid.

is it part time study course?
is the medium of teaching in english or arabic?
how heavy is the work load? (i.e. can u do with whilst doing another full time degree?)
what are the main texts/ books that will be covered and to what depth in each subject area?

Isn't there limited space?

u could do it part time like i said before. im not sure what language they teach in.
i dont know anything about what texts will be studied etc.
and you may be able to do it whilst doing a full time degree, depends on which course you take up i suppose. i dont know about the limited spaces stuff.

i think it'll be best if you go to the open day. if not, inshallah when i go ill ask any questions that you might want to ask.

when i phoned a while back i spoke to another sister and she said they take you makkah for a coupla weeks to help improve your arabic or something like that. and they pay for the accomodation and stuff. and you have end of year exams.
