I was reminded about this when I came across a box of Veet in our house exported from UAE. On it you find the instructions in both English and Arabic which is an excellent way to learn new vocab and sentences. Since most of these domestic goods are aimed at women you will find a lot of use of the female imperative.

I find it amusing though that like on its other counterparts, instant noodles also has instructions aimed at the female, surely no self-respecting housewife in the Arab world, or in fact in any part of the world, would cook them and rather the largest consumers of instant noodles are sad, lonely single young men...?

Where are the noodles made? In alot of South-East Asian countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia etc) noodles are a huge part of the staple diet, even instant ones. They are sold in bulk, and take up a whole supermarket aisle themselves. As they often export to the Arab countries, some of them print their packaging with Arabic instructions.

Good suggestion though, maa shaa' Allaah.

Instant noodles with those flavour sachets (just add water and wait 3 minutes)...?

Yes. People make them to eat with a main dish with meat or vegetables, as an alternative to rice or bread.

Yes, I've noticed that, too..

Anyone heard of the girl who bought a bar of chocolate and began to read the arabic ingredients...which lead her to revert to Islaam in the end?
