Oddly, I had never heard of her until I was preparing for a halaqah the other day and came across her poetry.
Here's a link on her: http://cmadp.com/khansa.htm
This poem, especially, was extremely eloquent (she is lamenting her brother's death):
The rising of the sun brings memory of Sakher,
And I remember him at sunset,
And had it not been for the countless weepers around me,
Over their brothers, I'd have killed myself,
But they do not cry over my brother,
And I send condolence to my soul for it's patience,
So no, by Allah, I shall not forget you until,
I depart my soul and am established in a tomb,
Alas my yearning for him, and the yearning of my soul,
In the grave I shall awaken, and in it spend my nights.

Amazing how the same woman, later on in the battle of Qadisiyyah, completely changed her stance: she stood with her four sons and said to them, “You became Muslim and did not apostatise, and you emigrated and did not turn back, then you came to your old mother and placed her in the hands of the people of Persia. You are the sons of one man, as you are the sons of one woman. I did not betray your father, nor did I disgrace your uncle. Go, and be witnesses of the battle from the beginning to its very end.”
All four of her sons were martyred, and when the news reached her she said her famous words: “All praise be to Allah, who honoured me with their death. I ask Him, glory be to He, to join me together with them, in the dwellings of his mercy.”

SubhanAllah if one were to gauge her Eemaan at that point, it seems extremly amazing, how a mother, in the eyes of most people, has just 'lost' her 4 sons, though she knew the truth, that InshAllah they would be rewarded with Jannah. And because of that she was tranquil in such a situation. Something to really think over for myself and others.

Yes. And the point I was making, is that this is her losing four of her sons who are arguably the closest people to her, and she had this reaction.
While previously (in the first post), she had lost her brother, and due to that she almost wanted to kill herself.

InshaAllah, can one of you check to see if the narration about alKhansaa and her sons is authentic?
I had learned otherwise at some point, but I cannot recall where  . Allahu alam.
